Author: Rachel Gibson
Release Date: July 26, 2016
Publisher: Avon Books
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Format: Paperback/Ebook/Audio

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Gibson returns with this dazzling love story filled with sizzle, sass, and just a bit of southern charm . . .

"Hello, Ms. Vivian . . . it's been a long time."

And with those words, Vivian Leigh Rochet nearly melted. It's been years since she last saw Harrison Whitley-Shuler. She was a teenager scrubbing houses for a living. He was the gorgeous son of rich parents, not fit for the likes of her.

Vivian had vowed to get out of Charleston, become a big Hollywood star, and stick it to the snooty girls who made her cry.

She got what she wanted—and more—but why does her glamorous life seem so trivial?

Harrison got out too . . . making it all the way to Wall Street, until a heart attack forced him to trade in his cufflinks for a good set of hand tools.

Making furniture soothes his soul, but escaping the Whitley-Shuler heritage is nearly impossible. And now he's come face-to-face with the one who got away. He's not looking for love. He's not even looking for sex . . . so why is resisting her the hardest thing he's ever done?

Don Quixote Explained
Title: Don Quixote Explained Author: Emre Gurgen Publisher: AuthorHouse Genre: Literary Criticism Format: Ebook/Paperback
Don Quixote Explained focuses on seven topics: how Sancho Panza refines into a good governor through a series of jokes that turn earnest; how Cervantes satirizes religious extremism in Don Quixote by taking aim at the Holy Roman Catholic Church; how Don Quixote and Sancho Panza check-and-balance one another’s excesses by having opposite identities; how Cervantes refines Spanish farm girls by transforming Aldonza Lorenzo into Dulcinea; how outlaws like Roque Guinart and Gines Pasamonte can avoid criminality and why; how Cervantes establishes inter-religional harmony by having a Christian translator, on the one hand, and a Muslim narrator, on the other; and lastly, how Cervantes replaces a medieval view of love and marriage―where a woman is a housekeeper, lust-satisfier, and child begetter―with a modern view of equalitarian marriage typified by a joining of desires and a merger of personalities. Title: Lord of the Mountains
Author: Sabrina Jarema
Release Date: March 14, 2017
Publisher: Lyrical Press
Genre: Historical Romance
Format: Ebook

Amid the glittering fjords and majestic mountains of Norway, this stunning series delves into the loves, battles, and dreams of the Viking clans—powerful men and women who believed in the call of the flesh as well as the soul…

It was said that the man who could look into Silvi Ivarsdottir’s eyes would be meant for her. Powerful jarl Magnus Sigrundson knows he is that man, and that Silvi’s dowry can give him the ships, swords, and silver he needs for his trading empire. Yet beautiful Silvi’s dream is not to be a wife, but a Priestess of the gods for the great temple at Uppsala. Who dares interfere with such passion? The answer lies in Silvi herself, in the way her body awakens to Magnus’ touch, in the way she inspires a reverence he didn’t know he possessed—and in the battles she takes on when she journeys to his mountain home of Thorsfjell.

But soon a dangerous, deceitful enemy threatens to shatter. Now they face another quest: can they find each other again—and dare live and love in each other’s worlds?

Lost Along the Way

Title: Lost Along the Way
Author: Erin Duffy
Release Date: July 12, 2016
Publisher: William Morrow
Genre: Women's Fiction
Format: Hardcover/Ebook/Audio

A fresh, funny, and insightful novel about what it really means to be “friends forever” from the acclaimed author of Bond Girl and On the Rocks.

All through childhood and adolescence, Jane, Cara, and Meg swore their friendship would stand the test of time. Nothing would come between them, they pledged. But once they hit their twenties, life got more complicated and the BFFs began to grow distant. When Jane eloped with her slick, wealthy new boyfriend and didn’t invite her oldest friends to the ceremony, the small cracks and fissures in their once rock-solid relationship became a chasm that tore them apart.

Ten years later, when her husband is arrested and publically shamed for defrauding his clients, Jane realizes her life among the one percent was a sham. Penniless and desperate, deserted by the high-society crowd who turn their surgically perfected noses up at her, she comes crawling back to her childhood friends seeking forgiveness. But Cara and Meg have troubles of their own. One of them is trapped in a bad marriage with an abusive husband, while the other can't have the one thing she desperately wants: a baby. Yet as much as they’d love to see Jane get her long overdue comeuppance, Cara and Meg won’t abandon their old friend in her time of need.

The story of three friends who find themselves on a laugh-out-loud life adventure, Lost Along the Wayilluminates the moments that make us, the betrayals that break us, and the power of love that helps us forgive even the most painful hurts.

Interview with Stan Matthews, author of The Last County Fair

The Last County Fair Banner

Inside the Book:
The Last County Fair

Title: The Last County Fair
Author: Stan Matthews
Publisher: iUniverse
Genre: Mystery/Detective
Format: Ebook/Paperback

It is 1967 when a feud begins that could lead to the death of the one-hundred-year-old Chesterton county fair. When veteran reporter Art James is sent to investigate, he immediately delves into a case that will take him six days and hopefully provide him with a much-coveted feature story byline. Bob soon learns that the county is interested in selling the fairgrounds and that there are as many proponents as opponents to the sale. As Art interviews fairgoers, volunteers, and leaders, he unearths a conspiracy to hide the truth from the public until an agreement can be arranged between the county and a trucking firm. While Art's feature articles win him welcome bylines, he becomes even more determined to stop the sham, before it is too late. To complicate matters even further, Art becomes smitten with fair volunteer, Jenny Glen. As the last night of the fair arrives, the future is decided-not just for the fair, but for Art and Jenny as well. In this compelling story, an investigative reporter on a quest to uncover the truth about the demise of a county fair finds love while uncovering a conspiracy led by greed and deception.

How did you come up with the title of your book?

I was personally acquainted with a multitude of participants in a county fair, which I toured in depth. When the fair ceased to be an annual event I questioned the multiple circumstances which caused it to disappear.

What is your writing environment like?

I have a large room that I call my studio. It is quiet and always available to me alone. My computer is available for research, and my Oxford dictionary and thesaurus are close at hand. I do not keep a phone in the studio. I begin work every day, all day, at six a.m.

What are some of the best tools available today for writers?

An education in writing is a necessity when it is accompanied by good text books. Courses are available on the internet. .

What inspires you to write?

I live in a world deluged with inspirational sources. I write because I want to be an inspiration to my readers. Understanding the truth about the forces that inspire or demean human life is essential.

Did you learn anything while writing this book?

I learned how the most mundane workday experiences may be used to dramatize the cause of human conflicts.

What is your favorite quality about yourself?

I am stubborn. I stick to it until the final period is in place. I may have edited and rewritten a dozen times but I stick to it.

Stan Matthews is a veteran investigative reporter who has visited scores of county, state, national, and provincial fairs in England, Canada, and America. He has written and produced films about fairs and is the author of several other books. Stan lives in Florida with his wife, Mary Jane.

Exploding the Big Bang Theory

Title: Exploding the Big Bang Theory
Author: Joseph Donnelly
Publisher: AuthorHouse
Genre: Religion
Format: Ebook

The essence of this my third effort at publication now stands to be the true basis of our human species new working philosophy. My main interest is of our relationship with God on all fronts. Simple when realised we under the split headings of humanity in tribe, clan, national or of different skin colour configurations, have amassed over 10.000 religious philosophies to meet our personal needs. Of which none seem to work for all over the limit of tribe, clan national or colour configuration?! Because of the very modern sophisticated trend of rejecting God, generally understood to have been the creator; and in using the guessed at elements of how science really works or had been given credit for how it must work. Many in that field of study have felt qualified enough to snub those 10,000 religions by stating there never is or was God in any case? My personal stand and standards revolve around humanity in us, getting the understanding of God right in the first place, but slightly askew in the opinion we were expressly chosen by God to promote enlightenment upon the universe! Yes we got it right, there is God, and no arguments can be valid against this acceptance. To endorse that statement I have been able and commit my to be our understanding of how and why God set the clock of creation from the beginning of all time, now scientifically proved by us, through the open discovery of the God particle, much more than a scientific phenomena? . Part of my style and method stands to the terms of all religions in best choice to be monotheistic by character. This fits with the full progress of all histories naturally connecting with the future of self. Self to be the individuals we each are, but hailed to be of species over tribe, clan, colour or national. Our monotheistic relationship stands also to self, in that however we are in style by colour or creed. We will meet to be the same image of God as seen in self, but only able to manage that wonderful spectacle on Gods terms from our solid belief in God, reality, and our future! See what you think, when from now you can also evaluate the latest of sciences exposé’s over and above some of the scientific ranting of how any form of intelligent life began, but more importantly, why, remembering we are here on Gods terms not ours!

When all sorts of accusations, denials, revelations, disclosures, and leaks are swarming and spilling around the security agencies of the United Kingdom and the USA, it is worse when the Snowden effect erupts. A bruised and slightly disillusioned Commander Elaine Black, training officer and senior security advisor at GCHQ Bude Listening Facility, is plunged into a bewildering and dangerous battle to make sense of and counter a desperate threat to British Security. Headless bodies, fire bombings, threats of chemical warfare unloosed on a small West Country town, apparently straightforward murders and the killing of a policeman make Elaine Black thankful for the involvement of a pair of incorruptible and driven police detectives and the experience and expertise that they bring to the party. However, as the stakes get higher and higher, Elaine is further gratified to have two old fighting companions on side. The question is, can the team confound the multinational conspiracy that stretches to the highest echelons of British and American financial and political establishments?
